Domaine Jean-Baptiste Boudier

Domaine Jean-Baptiste Boudier are making waves on the Bourgogne wine scenes despite being what is a relatively new domaine, having undertaken their first vintage in 2015 from just three hectares of vines.

Jean-Baptiste worked alongside his father until 2014 on his father’s seven-hectare domaine and during the vinification process they realised that they had different visions of wine, leading to their mutual decision of Jean-Baptiste departing to begin experimenting on his own.

Domaine Jean-Baptiste Boudier is not certified organic, but is practising. His production is small with around five barrels only for his largest cuvée. He destems for his reds and vinification is in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and very low added sulphur. For his whites, whole bunches are gently pressed and fermentation starts in stainless steel and finishes in the barrel, again with very low added sulphur.

From cooler terroir his wines have a very welcome freshness with great fruit character and balance.  Fabulous wines.
