Domaine Patrick Javillier

The Javillier family, originating from Meursault many centuries ago, have always owned vineyards in and around the area. Armed with an oenology degree from the University of Burgundy in Dijon, Patrick joined the domaine in 1974 – and the domaine has since expanded through a series of acquisitions in the 1980s and 1990s across various appellations, such as Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard and the Grand Cru of Corton-Charlemagne.

The wines of each vineyard and parcel are vinified separately in order to preserve the intrinsic characteristics of each terroir. For the whites, the must undergoes oak barrel fermentation, the amount of new oak being determined according to the provenance of the grapes. Long maturation on the lees is favoured and, after 17 to 18 months, the wines are bottled with a minimum of fining and filtration. The domaine is now expertly run by Marion Javillier and her winemaker brother-in-law Pierre-Emmanuel Lamy.
