Additional Info:

The Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Champs Gains 2022 comes from two parcels planted between 1958 and 1962, situated just below the 1er Cru Les Folatières. More sheltered by surrounding hedges, this site benefits from a protected microclimate. The limestone soils, only 20 cm deep, lend the wine a distinctive salinity and mineral character.

Wine Characteristics

  • Appellation: Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru
  • Vintage: 2022
  • Grape Variety: 100% Chardonnay

Vinification and Aging
The grapes were gently whole-bunch pressed and transferred into 228-liter French oak barrels, where fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts. The wine then underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months in the same barrels, with 25% new oak. The final blend was assembled and aged for an additional six months in stainless steel tanks before bottling in February.

Tasting Notes

The wine displays a pale gold color with shimmering reflections, indicating its freshness and youth. The bouquet is expressive and refined, offering aromas of ripe peach, lemon zest, and citrus blossoms, intertwined with subtle flinty and saline notes. Delicate hints of toasted oak and white flowers add complexity. The palate is precise and vibrant, marked by a crisp acidity that provides freshness and balance. Flavors of peach, lemon, and yellow apple are complemented by a distinct mineral backbone. The wine finishes with saline nuances and a long, intense, and elegant finish, showcasing both richness and finesse.
